Programs

Our programs were created to transform the lives of underrepresented and disenfranchised youth, with a focus on African American youth. These programs are designed to equip them with the tools and resources to thrive in today’s changing world.

Ongoing Programs

Community-Based Mentoring Program for Youth We believe mentorship is more than guidance—it is transformation. Our comprehensive program provides consistent influence, direction, and support, addressing the social, cultural, emotional, and personal needs of male youth, with a focus on African American males. For many of these young men, mentoring is not just beneficial—it is essential. “Show me a successful individual and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living—if you do it well, I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing you the way. A mentor.” – Denzel Washington Our program is built on the understanding that the world young men are growing up in is complex and challenging. We know this journey because we have lived it. That is why our mentoring model pairs seasoned Black mentors with emerging leaders, creating a powerful cycle of shared experience, wisdom, and encouragement. Through our partnership with Tulsa Public Schools, we mentor young males, regardless of race, in more than seven schools and impact hundreds of youth annually. From teaching and instilling character traits like integrity, responsibility, and compassion, to simply being a listening ear, our mentors serve as role models, advocates, and trusted advisors during the most formative years of a young man’s life. Our approach combines group mentoring, individualized guidance, and targeted interventions. This allows us to connect with students across multiple age levels, meeting them where they are and helping them grow into strong, healthy, and culturally aware young men. Mentoring is work that is never forgotten—it shapes lives for a lifetime. Schools Served: - Central High School - McLain High School - Rogers High School - Webster High School - Monroe Middle School - Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy - Cecilia Clinton Elementary - Legacy Charter School - John Hope Franklin

The 100 Black Men of America, Inc. considers economic empowerment necessary for creating just societies around the world. Our Tulsa initiatives are designed to stimulate the interests of our youth to develop a healthy respect for money and effective ways to manage it. Youth Entrepreneurship Program “We can transcend the script of a pre-defined story, and pave the way for the future that we design. We just need to tap that power, that conviction, that determination within us. The good news is, we follow people that look like us if the story is told the right way.” - Robert F. Smith, chairman, and CEO of Vista Equity Partners Entrepreneurship is the driving force of wealth and the fabric of the American economy, however, only 10% of business in the United States are owned by African Americans. This creates a large gap of underrepresentation of successful business owners as examples for our youth. Our entrepreneurship program is poised to change this trend by training Women and educating black young men on the value of being an entrepreneur and growing a business as well as the importance of having great money management skills through our financial literacy program. Previous activities our students have completed include shadowing local entrepreneurs to learn how to start a business and attending financial literacy classes about budgeting, credit, and more.

Educating and Empowering Youth Since 1994 For over 30 years, we have been dedicated to preparing young people for brighter futures. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that every student has access to educational resources and college opportunities that open doors to success. “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.” – Malcolm X College Tuition Scholarship Program Through our Tuition Scholarship Program, we aim to award five to six scholarships annually, each valued at $1,000 or more, to deserving students in our community. This year, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the Tyler Lockett Light It Up Foundation, we were able to expand our reach, awarding ten scholarships of $5,000 each. These scholarships not only relieve financial burdens but also empower students to pursue higher education with confidence. With the continued support of corporate sponsors and community partners, we hope to sustain and grow this program—helping underserved students gain access to college and preparing them to thrive in a global society. Academic Enrichment Programs This year, we are launching new initiatives to strengthen the academic foundation of our mentees: * Bi-Weekly Math & Reading Program Our goal is to bring elementary students up to—and beyond—grade level by the end of the school year. With additional resources, including microscopes and hands-on STEM tools, we will also spark curiosity and innovation in middle and high school students. * “Stop the Drain” Summer Program To combat summer learning loss, especially among students from under-resourced communities, we will pilot a summer math and reading initiative in July. This program will keep young minds engaged, preserve the progress made during the school year, and inspire continued growth. Moving Forward Together Education transforms lives, and with your partnership, we can continue to break barriers, expand opportunities, and nurture the next generation of leaders. Together, we can ensure that every child has the tools and support they need to achieve their full potential.

The 100’s health and wellness goals are to raise awareness, provide access to health care and give health information that will ultimately promote behavior change resulting in a healthier lifestyle. Health Education & Resources Life is not a spectator sport. If you're going to spend your whole life in the grandstand just watching what goes on, in my opinion, you're wasting your life. – Jackie Robinson Your health is directly tied to your longevity. We are taking back the health of our community by providing them with the resources they need to make quality decisions about the food they eat, the care they take, and their daily activities. We focus on mind and body, stimulating and empowering them with the resources they need to be healthy and aware of the options they have to become and remain well. Our Annual Men’s Health and Wellness Expo is the main vehicle in which we are able to support the wellness of our community. In partnership with the Tulsa Health Department and other community organizations, we have been able to educate men on the importance of proper nutrition, annual care, all while creating a community event the citizens can be proud of since 2015!
